On International Woman’s Day the 8th of March 2023 Momentum marked the day with a special afternoon tea to celebrate WeRin and the launch of the Good Practice report. EU project managers, Lola Gonzalez and Samantha Carty organised this afternoon with help from intern Aoife Curran by inviting women with different backgrounds in entrepreneurship. Nabi Do who works for Apple as a GIS Country/Language Technical Editor and Maintenance Editor spoke about digital skills and using new tools like Chat GPT, she plans to host a digital workshop for all attendees soon. We also had the pleasure of hearing from Daria Mazina, a Ukrainian refugee who moved to Ireland 10 months ago and joined the Carrick-on-Shannon Tidy Towns to get out and meet new people. She also volunteers with the local county council, as a translator to support other Ukrainians.
All attendees heard from Momentum’s project lead on WeRin, Samantha Carty, who explained the relevance of WeRin and its goal to increase the number of female graduate entrepreneurs across Europe. The newly released Good Practice report, launched on the day, is designed for organisations in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Good Practices were identified to match women entrepreneurs’ needs at different stages within their entrepreneurial journey, from educational empowerment to systemic changes. It was fitting that International Women’s Day also marks the launch of WeRin, two years ago. Since the partnership began, WeRin has been making sure that women feel invited to be entrepreneurs and that female students see entrepreneurship as a career path.
