A Day of Inclusive Entrepreneurship in Zagreb

The University of Zagreb, Faculty of the Organization and Informatics (FOI) organised A Day of Inclusive Entrepreneurship on 1st December 2023,  to share and disseminate the results of the WeRin project. The event also collected feedback from the entrepreneurial ecosystem and educators on the WeRin Knowledge Port and the WeRin Toolbox.

A variety of participants who are part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem took part with representatives from the educational system (UNIZG FOI, other HEIs and high-school teachers), entrepreneurial support institutions, and women entrepreneurs. The FOI project team has been actively introducing the project results into the classroom and using the collected data in research work, thus continuously working on improvements in the efficiency of entrepreneurial education and support with a focus on gender perspectives.

Kristina Detelj, FOI project leader, emphasized that FOI has been working on the promotion of skills needed in the entrepreneurial system and actively managing the theme of gender equality in entrepreneurship via this project and the Lab for Entrepreneurship.

The session that invited the most interest was the panel discussion on the topic: Inclusivity of Croatian Entrepreneurship. Participants of the panel were: Full Prof. Nina Begicevic Ređep, PhD, Professor at FOI and project leader at the Regional Center for Incubation in Smart Industry, Lana Velimirović Vukalović, Head of Public Open University Varaždin and founder of Academy for Entrepreneurship, Emilija Stručić, consultant at Technology park Varaždin, and CEO of Infodesign, Darinka Bistrović, Founder and Director of didacta advance, a small family business, ( d.o.o. Čakovec, Petra Jukić, entrepreneur and book blogger (The Beauty of Reading), and Ivan Plačko, Director of Technology Innovation Centre Medimurje.

Educators also participated in an interactive workshop in the field of entrepreneurship education as a shortened version of the International Capacity Building Session. Participants were presented with the WeRLearnin Approach and the WeRin Toolbox including the WeRin Principles. Both the FOI team and the attending participants (in-person and online) shared their experiences in the field of entrepreneurship education and gave feedback on all the project materials.
